I’m changing over the decor in the dining room from Winter to Spring decor. The life and vibrancy from the outdoors is easily brought in just by adding little birds. There’s something sweet about birds in decor. Their delightful cheeriness brings on a smile.
Birds add Cheer to the Spring Decor in the Dining Room
Just like the Spring flowers that bring beautiful color to our surroundings, sweet birds cheerfully sing their song early in the mornings heralding another day.
Delightful and Cheerful Spring Decor in the Dining Room
Bird Decor is Easy to Find
Just about every decor store or hobby store has birds in their spring collection. I am partial to the cream or white birds, but I couldn’t resist the blue birds! As I decorate the dining room, I imagine little vignettes with birds here and there.
Add Nests and Birdhouses to your Room’s Decor
I have been gifted with several lovely birdhouses that I end up using in my decor. In the dining room each tabletop has a little something to remind me of the sweet little birds that charm my mornings with their song. Nests are pretty easy to find and just as easy to make.
Making Bird’s Nests
I often use shallow dishes as a base for my nests. The easiest nests are made from simply adding green moss. Another easy nest can be made by small grapevine wreaths. If you’re lucky, you may find an abandoned nest outdoors.
If You Find a Bird’s Nest…
I’ve read that it is possible to bring abandoned bird nests in to add charm to your room decor. Here are a few considerations:
- Make sure this nest is abandoned. If it fell from a storm, the babies could be nearby. You can replace a bird’s nest.
- Bird nests can be messy afterwards. Shake off or brush off any dirt or debris.
- Bird nests can be infested with bugs – place the bird nest in a plastic bag, seal the bag and freeze for a few days. Some place nests in the oven to kill bugs, if you do use great caution.
- Use nests in your room decor areas away from food
China Cabinet Decor
Recently, I found a fellow blogger who shared her interest in Cabinet of Curiosities…I was intrigued. I wondered what this was. After a little research I created my own Cabinet of Curiosities…filled with memories. I do add a bit of homage to my love of birds here too.
Spring Decor Throughout the House
I’m moving from room to room adding Spring decor. There’s joy in clearing and cleaning a room. There’s joy in refreshing the room by adding charming Spring decor. Do you change your home’s decor seasonally? What do you love to add to your decor? What defines Spring to you?
