Today was a hot one, my friend! Dearest and I were outdoors. Each doing a much needed project…But, it felt too hot! We confirmed it. The ‘feel-like’ temp was 100°. I know. Some have had it even worse. This has been such a crazy summer! But, just now, as I sit here…I can just imagine the coziness of Fall….And I’m ready to get started making it so in my home!
The Coziness of Fall and Daydreaming
This has been such an amazing summer in so many ways! We’ve spent time with our new granddaughter – as much as possible. We’ve spent time with our children – one (couple) has just bought a house and we’re so excited to help them make it their own.
The In-Between Season
All the fun and relaxation of summertime has quickly passed. School is now back in session and we’re all getting back to different routines. For me, being a mostly stay-at-home Empty Nester – I am making plans for some decluttering/organizing. I am making some plans for redecorating. I am making plans for completely redoing our garden. Also, I will be changing over the decor in the home from summer to fall.
I’m looking forward to all the wonderful things fall has to offer – cooler temps. Colorful leaves. Fall flowers. Apple picking at apple farms. And even a big vacation Dearest and I are looking forward to – a cruise. My sister has a lot of experience and I will be seeking her input – I can’t wait!
Daydreaming and Planning
But, for now, as I sit here dreaming and planning…I have given myself a little more of a touch of the brilliance of summer…It’s not over yet! There are still several days of warm air, sunshine/thunderstorms – lots of them; days of fishing and picnicking and star-gazing…I so love a clear starry night! There are times we can sit on our back porch watching the fireflies and listening to the sounds of the night.
As I contemplate this in-between time and daydream about my plans…I love to enjoy creating a beautiful atmosphere. Do you? I pour myself a lovely cup of coffee or tea – Which would you prefer? I take out inspirational magazines….or search Pinterest. I also create a sensory atmosphere…Today I am using a new, beautifully fresh fragrant candle…Sweet Lemon.
Summer Sweet Lemon Fragrance
Don’t you just love the fresh fragrance of lemons! They remind me so of light, clean summer air! I love large, juicy lemons and that moment when you slice into it and the lemon oils release that marvelous lemony fragrance…Well, that is captured in this wonderful candle fragrance!
I not only love the fragrance, but also the gorgeous Mason jars with vintage style lids! Just perfect for a cottage style – especially farmhouse cottage style decor!
After I’ve used this sweet candle up I know that I will find a creative use for the jar…My imagination is flying even now.
