Summer Door Wreath Idea; I made this double ring shabby summer wreath with white magnolias and burlap bow

Shabby and Neutral

I have LOVED my Tulip Spring wreath…I’ve waited until the last minute to replace it. But, it’s time. I found these awesome all-white Magnolia flowers at Hobby Lobby…they with two grapevine wreaths make a lovely, shabby and neutral summer wreath.

A Summer Wreath

“What are you doing with that?”, Dearest asked…pointing toward the the flowers and the grapevine wreaths. “I’m making a summer wreath”, I smiled. We have a friend over and Dearest leaned over, “She’s crafting now…” they then continued their conversation at one end of the dining table as I ‘created’ at the other end.

Shabby Neutral and Serene…

Where the Spring Wreath was vibrant in all of its bright colors, this wreath will be more subdued, more elegant and neutral…it is a lovely beginning to my summer decor…outside and in. I am leaning more and more toward these neutral shades in my decor…with splashes of color here and there.

Spring Wreath

The Spring Tulip Wreath had numerous silk tulips of various colors. I loved this green checked ribbon…it was hard to let it go!

Summer Transition…

Earlier this spring, I planted some of my favorite plants – Geraniums…several on the front porch. Each stone planter had beautiful red Geraniums.

The Double Ring

We’re in wedding mode here at A Delightsome Life…our youngest daughter is getting married later this month…I look forward to sharing with you some of the crafts and decor we’ve been making. This inspired me to combine two grapevine wreaths in a double-ring for my summer wreath. I used both hot glue and floral wire to attach the wreaths together.

Burlap Bow

I chose to make a burlap bow for this wreath…I love burlap! This adds just the right patina to this shabby magnolia summer wreath…

How to Make this Wreath

It's wedding season and I was inspired by the double-ring pattern to make this shabby chic, neutral door wreath with all-white magnolias. Check out how easy this is to make!

  • Two Small – Medium Grapevine Wreaths
  • All-White Magnolia Flowers (Hobby Lobby)
  • 6″ Burlap Ribbon
  • Hot Glue and Hot Glue Gun
  • Green Floral Wire
  • Twine
  • wire cutters

Combine the two grapevine wreaths with both the hot glue and green floral wire. Overlapping one wreath over the other in a double wedding ring pattern. Cut the white magnolia flowers from their long stems – short stems are lightly woven into the grapevine and hot glued. Alternate the white magnolias left to right…an odd number of flowers always looks best. Make a bow with the burlap ribbon.
