Farmhouse Charm with Country Living Fair Finds
There are so very many reasons to love fall. The fragrant, crisp, cool air, the changing of the leaves, the beauty of walking through an apple orchard, the cozy blankets, the bonfires…and for me, Country Living Fair! I have been going to the Country Living Fair for years – first on my own, a few times joining in at meet-ups with Hometalk and Bloggers, but the best part now it’s become a girl trip! Each year I find something awesome and I want to share with you how to add Farmhouse Charm with Country Living Fair Finds!
This has such become a girl trip that as soon as it is over, we’re planning for the next year! The Country Living Fair occurs at several marvelous locations one being just a couple hour’s drive from home. So, my sister, daughters, daughter-in-law and I plan and prepare for our fun time together! As I shared, the first couple years I went on my own. One I met up with a friend then the next my eldest daughter joined me. We laugh now because that was the year of big purchases. I drove my husband’s convertible (not thinking or really planning on a big haul) and filled it to the max with treasures. Poor darling daughter thought I’d invited her so she could help me carry things.
Then the inspiration spread...my sister and other daughter joined in. That was the year of ‘Danny’s Song’. We saw a hand painted sign that read, ‘even though we ain’t got money, I’m so in love with you honey’. Yep, we sang that song out loud! Happy Anne Murray fan! That became our theme and the year people found out – we all have the same laugh. Imagine four girls together laugh and making each other laugh. It was awesome!
That was also the year we saw Ree Drummond of The Pioneer Woman share her latest cookbook.
Then the next year our group grew to include my other sister and her daughter. My daughter’s husbands came along-on their own- for the day and did their own thing! It was a blast! We also went to the top of Stone Mountain that year –
This year coming in October, we’re not only going again, but we’re also staying at the park! And my son-in-law is going to let us take his trailer…oh, the temptation to fill that baby up!
Country Living Fair is an experience. It is an inspiration and it is the perfect way to spend an autumn weekend. We do the fair for two days – every one works so it’s hard to get the full three day experience, perhaps some day!
