Spring is oh so close!

A-DELIGHTSOME-LIFE-BUNNY-NAPKIN

When you come into our home, you generally come through the dining room. The first thing you see is our dining table.

I decided to bring some spring inspiration to the tablescape.

I began by choosing this bright yellow tablecloth – to compliment the forsythia and daffodil blooms gracing my garden and arrangements throughout the house.

I made these sweet little Bunny folded napkins.

I’ve seen these several times over and have been looking foreward to making my own. I used these lovely spring green napkins with bamboo lattice. I used my new Durathon iron – review here – to press the tablecloth and the folds to the napkins. Such fun. I also used this tutorial to make the napkins.

Fresh and Green and floral.

Make me think of spring. So I began by layering each setting with my Martha Stewart green-edged plates. Atop each plate I added my floral Homer Laughlin plates. I set my Bunny napkin among the flowers in the top right of the plate.

More Bunnies in the Centerpiece

A-DELIGHTSOME-LIFE-OVER-BUNNY

I recently found these bunnies at my friend Maria’s store, Rooms U Love. I love their sweet, serene appearance. Between the bunnies I placed an apothecary jar with dried roses and moss stones. More stones were added around the bunnies and a few swags of silk spring flowers.

Spring means color and new life.

A-DELIGHTSOME-LIFE-BIRD AND NEST

Displaying birds and bird nests remind me of the new life found in nature. I just love birds – all things about them – their beauty and their lovely song.

A Wish Bunny

My neighbor who shared the Redbud branches, of which I made a small vignette, gave me this Wish Bunny. He once told Dearest that he thinks I’m ‘young at heart’. I was giddy with happiness when he gave this to me and giggled like a little girl! I guess he might be right.

Spring is Fresh, Green and Floral.

This tablescape is a wonderful welcome to spring and would work wonderfully for an Easter gathering.

It’s all about Time

Thoughtful Living

This project started when I decided to make a change to the decor in the upper hallway. As you reach the landing there’s a small inset where I’ve had this beautiful round table. I love how it fits, I love the lace curtain – especially in the morning as the sunlight creates beautiful lacy shadows […]

Great Grandpa’s Chair

Thoughtful Living

One of my greatest delights is to have inherited pieces of furniture or ephemera. From my Mother I received three chairs that belonged to my Great-Grandparents.  I believe this chair was made by my Great-Grandfather.  There is evidence that this chair was hand-made and that the chair cushions had been redone over the years. The […]

Thoughtful Living

Barbara at The Everyday Home and a few other Bloggers are hosting a fantastic challenge. To create a dessert using ingredients found at the Dollar Store. How fun is that!  We all have those moments when you’re expecting guests…. and you haven’t anything prepared to serve – especially dessert. Can you create an elegant, delicious […]

Built in Bookcases

Thoughtful Living

Spring Cleaning – Before and After Last week, I shared with you the two Book Page Wreaths I made and placed in the built-ins in our living room. My daughter said that the arched area was a perfect spot for the wreaths. I think so too! Then I noticed that the remainder of the shelves […]
