It’s beginning to look a lot like French Farmhouse Christmas at our Delightsome home! I am so delighted…there’s something extra wonderful about decorating your home for Christmas. For our kitchen, I was inspired by chance when I added green and red dried flowers to a white pitcher.
The Charm of a French Farmhouse Christmas Kitchen
The deep colors of the red and green contrasted by the white of the pitcher set the stage for the vibrant color scheme for our French Farmhouse styled kitchen.
The Pitcher
I found this wonderful pitcher earlier this year while on vacation at Amelia Island. I love the bright white and the curves of the details. This pitcher now lives on our kitchen counter for the Christmas decor.
The Hutch
One of my favorite places in the kitchen to decorate seasonally and for the holidays is the kitchen’s hutch. This hutch has seen many transformations. I purchased this at Jaemor’s Farmer’s market. The family also builds farmhouse styled furniture. Now, all white with the addition of beadboard wallpaper – an awesome way to add bead board to your decor – this hutch is the perfect backdrop for my kitchen collectibles.
The varying textures and colors on the hutch include: French rolling pin, french collander dish, French bread dough bowl, pitchers, white bowls, linens, metal tray, little French milk cows, scale and rusty graters. I love the charming combination of vintage and collectible items.
The Burlap Stockings
These burlap stockings with vintage lace are my favorite! I received them as a gift a few years back. This year I added some red berry steps to add to the Christmas decor.
French Grain Sack Stockings
I made these stockings a few years back from faux French grain sack fabric I found through Decor Steals! I just love this fabric! I’ve used it for several projects and it made charming stockings!
The Plate Rack
This plate rack is another fun place to display collectibles! For Christmas decor I’m displaying some favorite red and white Transferware, a vintage French egg basket, French bread board, wicker baskets, decorated vintage Mason jars and Christmas greenery. In front of the plate rack is a French bottle rack. On this rack I have some of my teacup collection as well as some Christmas decor. This is also where I have my coffee station!
The Large Tray
The Chandelier
Scarborough Nesting Baskets
Boxwood Wreaths
These mini boxwood wreaths have remained where they are in my kitchen for years! I found them on Decor Steals – they’ve retained their beauty wonderfully! I added some more of the berry garland to this small grapevine wreath – simple, rustic Christmas decor.
The Festive Kitchen Ready for Entertaining
Now, our kitchen is ready for all of the festive entertaining! I love decorating for Christmas! I also love sharing my home! Do you enjoy decorating for Christmas? What’s your favorite decor style?
