Follow Your Dreams…
I have this recurring dream – or elements in a dream of a place – so real that when I dream and this place is in my dream – it’s always the same.
I dream there are secret, unused rooms in my home.
There’s a secret door that leads up a stairway to a set of rooms, some filled with furniture and stuff – lots of stuff. Some of these rooms, in my dream, I think it is time I used this room – it would make a great craft room, guest room etc…
these rooms always look the same. I think my dreams are telling a story.
Sometimes, I seem to continue where I left off in a last dream. Sometimes it is totally new, but the places are the same. It had been a while since I dreamed about these secret, unused rooms.
Until recently. When I finished reading, ‘A Year on Ladybug Farm’.
There were so many things about this story that were familiar, similar in some ways to mine. Things that made me smile, made me wish and made me dream.
There were ladybugs everywhere.
When we first walked through the house, there were ladybugs – everywhere – and they still come back year after year – lots of them.
Small town folk will come to help you…
When we moved in, we became acquainted with our neighbors, who are now friends – they’ve helped us tremendously with our home, its history and more.
There is wonder and beauty in a quiet morning or night
I just love waking to the song of the birds, to greet the day with the sunrise and thankfully watch the sunset…in a slower-paced country setting.
I suppose it was the story of Ida Mae – in the book – of so many places and things to discover
in this book, that spurred my recurring dream. I’ve always thought there’s so much more,…more rooms in my home.
I think these unused rooms and things are in me.
I think these things and places are talents and gifts I have not completely used – ideas, at the same time familiar and new. Dreams and ideas I have yet to fulfill…to follow.
I think we all should follow our dreams and dare to explore, to try to become….go into these rooms and make them what they should be.
‘A Year on Ladybug Farm’ was a marvelously written story, I’ve put on hold the next few books in this series… I look forward to how the story of these three friends continues to unfold.
In the meantime, I’m going to start a notebook of ideas, dreams and goals – things I want to do – to accomplish.
We all should follow our dreams…you’re never too anything to not make your own dreams come true.
Oh, and I would just LOVE to have a Folly. I think you’d like the book, A Year on Ladybug Farm by Donna Ball.
