The Unseasonable South
We’re in another season of rain in Georgia – Yesterday, Dearest was at his parent’s farm helping the family prepare for our annual Family Reunion. Usually it is so hot and dry, yesterday they were happy to get the clean up done despite the rain! I spent the day indoors painting in the kitchen. I think I could paint in my sleep!
Family reaction to the kitchen renovation:
Wow, the room is so big! (most everything is moved out!) Yes, it is and I am wondering how I can keep that bigness feel.
I am not sure about this color. What color is it? A creamy beigy cream, my reply. I have to admit in different light it takes on different hues. I kind of like this.
There’s a lot of white! Yes, over 10 years ago when we bought the house – EVERYTHING was painted white – even the brass light fixtures in the living room. I had always wanted a red dining room, so thus began the multi-colored adventure of painting each room a different color. Now, I am seeking more serene environments.
I like it! Yes! I do too.
Progress made, but miles to go before I sleep…miles to go before I sleep.
The view from here
I am liking the wide open view of my kitchen window without the curtains. Dare I leave them off? (Dearest says No! That will be a big NO!) This sweet teapot-teacup wind chime completely charms me.
The Faux Fall
Walking through my garden, sigh, I have to admit – the weeds are winning. But, the battle is far from over! I am pleased to see the constant flowers of this time of year. The temperatures are quite unseasonably cool – I am in heaven!
Sweet Autumn Clematis
Is a beautiful vine, sweet in it’s fragrance and delightful in the tiny star-like flowers. But it is invasive! It is popping up everywhere! A testimony that I haven’t been cleaning like I should.
Rain Saturated
blooms have a charm of their own.
The time of the spiders
Fall is definitely a time to watch where you’re walking in the garden! There are many, many of these and their friends!
My Bliss for this week
Red Grapefruit juice with Tangerine – from Publix – divine!
Foggy mornings
Old Wavy Glass in windows
Having my hair highlighted for the first time ever! And loving it. (yep, have never colored or highlighted my hair)
Red nail polish (always on my toenails)
Onions – and crock pots – two very versatile and much used things in my kitchen lately.
Appreciating a nap even if it is a 15-minute power nap- children just don’t get it.
Music that feeds the heart, mind and soul
Seeing the power of God’s grace
I hope you’re having a marvelous day and have a most Delightsome week,
