Quotes and Tea
I love having a framed chalkboard in my kitchen and I love finding quotes to write seasonally…there’s so much scope for the imagination to share!
I chose this quote by Charles Bowden
…it reflects the vibrancy of all things summer.
There are several I could have used
“I almost wish we were butterflies and liv’d but three summer days – three such days with you I could fill with more delight than fifty common years could ever contain.” John Keats, ‘Bright Star-Love Letters and Poems by John Keats to Fannie Brawne
I always love quotes by L. M. Montgomery…
“All in all, it was a never-to-be-forgotten summer — one of those summers which come seldom into any life, but leave a rich heritage of beautiful memories in their going — one of those summers which, in a fortunate combination of delightful weather, delightful friends and delightful doing, come as near to perfection as anything can come in this world.”
― L.M. Montgomery, Anne’s House of Dreams
I also love to change out vignettes on my desk
While shopping at Goodwill last week, I found this lovely teacup and saucer. They were not placed together – I found the teacup first and hoped to find the saucer. I was so delighted when I did and more so reading the pattern name, ‘Carolyn’ by Noritake. It’s summery beauty reminds me of several dear friends and relatives named Carolyn. Perfect!
Harvesting Lavender
I am doing some necessary garden cleaning…I’ve been unable to work in the garden for a couple of weeks and it shows! One of the tasks I truly needed to accomplish was to harvest my Lavender.
I placed the bunch next to the chalkboard
to hang. As long as it stays dry enough in the kitchen, the bunch should dry nicely – it is so beautifully fragrant.
My Second Summertime Decor change
The season of summer has begun and I am taking my time changing over decor in each room…there will be more, some blue and white…some whole-room changes.
I love the vibrant season of summer!
