Given the opportunity to add beauty to the Christmas decor in my home,
I was delighted to take on a challenge. QVC’s Home-Savvy Hostess, Jill Bauer wished to spread holiday cheer with this fun challenge. Participants are given a beautiful 24″ pre-lit wreath by Ellen Degeneres to review and to complete this QVC DIY Wreath Challenge.
I said yes! The challenge included using whatever crafting supplies I had on hand, from ribbons, bows to ornaments and pine cones. The options were up to me.
Loved the fullness of the wreath….
This wreath is amazingly full – once fluffed it became a beautiful wreath all on its own. This wreath is the perfect size for my hall mirror, so I knew exactly the direction I wanted to go. I also love that there’s a battery pack concealed at one end – no more cords to hide!
Red
The underlying theme to the Christmas decor in my family room is the color red…this was inspired first by the lovely Poinsettia garland on the fireplace mantel. I embellished the wreath with a green garland, red and green balls as well as red berries.
Our Christmas tree was embellished with the addition of new red balls and red ribbons. This wreath had to have red.
Vantage Point
My plan was to have the style of the wreath’s decor to reflect the decor on the mantel and that found on the couch table. I found some faux Poinsettias, beaded red and gold grapes, red ribbon and a red initial, R for our last name.
A Vignette
The landing already had the decor on the table as well as the red Poinsettia in the urn. I thought the faux grapes would bring together the look with the addition of green apples in the decor. A basket of apples completed the look.
My Chosen Decor for the Wreath
The faux beaded grapes curve the left side to the wreath.
Ribbon woven within the wreath to be met with a bow at the bottom by faux Poinsettia and a bunch of faux grapes.
Not only can I light this wreath without cords, but I can also choose among six settings…a beautiful and versatile wreath!
I’ve decorated this wreath to complement the Christmas decor in our living room. I’ve also arranged these decor items so that I might change them out for a whole new look. Who knows what direction I may choose next year, one thing I know, this beautiful pre-lit wreath will once again grace this hallway mirror. I’m already looking forward to that challenge once more.
