The Duchess has arrived – The Peony
My garden is holding court.
To me, the roses are the queens and princesses, the Iris are the Ladies in Waiting and
The Peonies are the Duchesses.
We’re expecting potentially severe weather today and tomorrow, I know this can adversely affect my dear flowers.
So I picked a few to make arrangements.
Right now, the yellow Iris is predominant, but I was surprised to find a peach colored one I’d never seen before…we have many that were passalongs and I may be surprised with more colors in time to come.
I arranged the intoxicatingly fragrant, multi-petalled rose with the sweet Pretty Lady.
And the Duchess and her friend
will grace my desk. I am enjoying the latest Victoria – their French issue and French Country Style – our dear blogging friend Kim at Savvy Southern Style is featured!
The Iris are nestled with the bunnies by the windowseat.
The roses are next to the French Bottle Rack and Red Chintz tea set.
I hope we don’t get heavy rain –
I do love a soft rain. In the meanwhile, I will enjoy my fragrant flowers, saved from the rain, indoors.
