Today’s tabletop inspiration comes from Doreen at Hymns and Verses. A while back I saw artwork by Hymns and Verses on Debra’s blog, Common Ground. This set off some wonderful memories of when I was a young teenager and this was one of our favorite songs. So, I drew it on my chalkboard.
Doreen shared her version of Daisies with Lemons in a vase here. While grocery shopping I picked up some lemons and knew I’d love to make my own version of her flower arrangement.
In my flower arrangement I added a few blossoms from our Butterfly Bush, Biltmore Gardens. I just LOVE the sweet honey fragrance of this flower.
Oh to be a butterfly or a bee when this flower is around.
I love the fresh combinatino of daisies and lemons – so fragrant. So that the lemons would not get wet, I set the stems of my flowers in the middle with a ziplock bag filled with water.
I was so delighted to find this teacup at TJMaxx. I had a teacup and coffee cup in this pattern and broke the teacup a while back! There was this sweet thing yesterday on the shelf waiting for me! Yes, I made a side trip to TJMaxx to see what beautiful things they have – I found my vase there too! Love the lines.
What happier setting could there be – a sunshiny song, sunshiny Daisies and bright, sunshiny lemons! This makes working at my desk in the kitchen a real pleasure!
By the way, if you like the ‘Sing a Song’ on chalkboard, Doreen may be able to make one for you or you can check out what else she has at her Hymns and Verses Etsy
I am so looking forward to this event later this month. So many of my favorite blogging friends will be sharing their homes – You can find a list of who and when on Marty’s site – A Stroll Thru Life. I was visiting Jennifer’s site – Town and Country Living I just love her Farmhouse Style! I have created a Pin Board filled with her inspirational photos!
I suppose you can tell by my happy mood that the sun is brightly shining today! Yes, I am singing that song!
