DIY BLUE AND WHITE DOLLAR STORE PUMPKINS
I’m a girl on a mission I think. I’m having so much fun decorating for fall and keeping an eye on budget-friendly ideas so that if you want to make your home special for Fall – it won’t cost you so much. Well, this is just one project I’m loving…You know I have made several fabric pumpkins – the DIY tutorial is HERE. While at the Dollar Tree I was looking at everything to see if it could be made into pretty fall decor. They had lots of great Fall stuff already – pumpkins, leaves, grapevine wreaths (smallish), moss stones, raffia etc…I was having a ball. THEN my gaze rested upon this beautifully patterned kitchen towels. LOVED the color and the pattern…I knew they’d make awesome budget- friendly pumpkins – and they did!
Blue and White Micro Fiber Kitchen Towel Pumpkins – Dollar Tree
Yes! Dollar tree, yes, microfiber dish towels! They make awesome, pretty pumpkins. I love the texture as well. From three towels I made six pumpkins. That’s $3 dollars for six pumpkins! (partial added $1 for raffia-3 bundles in one pack – barely used 1/4 of one) If you read my post on Pink Velvet Pumpkins – you know that I’m recycling old bed pillow (cleaned) filling to fill these pumpkins. All I’m using for these are the towels, raffia, stuffing, twig/vine from the garden and some thread.
Blue, White and Orange Tablescape
The tablescape is coming together now that I’ve added these blue and white pumpkins! To keep things neutral to emphasize the ‘pop’ of the orange and the blue – everything else is neutral.
Dining Room Fall Decor
I’m so enjoying the beautiful blue in this dining room. I am glad that I changed it over a few years back. This background makes a wonderful foil for the oranges and rusts of fall decor.
Place Setting
Each place setting has a burlap charger, creamy white plate – with basket weave design, old-gold colored napkin and the DIY blue and white pumpkin. This is a simple setting with the pumpkin as the star!
Dining Room Pumpkins
The dining room now is filling with DIY pumpkins and with dollar store pumpkins. The two on the Southern Living at Home candle stands I’ve had for years!
Seasonal Decorating
It’s so much fun to decorate seasonally. I know I am a bit early – but, I’m here for inspiration! I shared thoughts on what, when, why and how to decorate for fall. My daughter, now having her own home, wanted to know just when should she begin to decorate!
I’m nearly finished with the dining room. There’s just a couple more projects I have in mind. And, yes! I do have more DIY fabric pumpkins I’m working on for different rooms in our homes. I hope you give these budget-friendly pumpkins a try – they’re so much fun, so cute and so very personal.
Let me know if you do!
