This month we focus on the many blessings we have in our lives.
We Give Thanks
Don’t you find that when you begin to list your blessings those things that may cause concern or trouble you seem to lessen in importance.
While taking a break and shopping at Hobby Lobby, I found these sweet and simple placecards. I like that they’re small, can be taken with you and are writeable. Each family member can write down what they’re thankful for and keep it to remind them of the blessings of life.
I also found these marvelous burlap chargers – they work beautifully for this tablescape – the basketweave plates and bowls, the texture of the napkin ring…
There is a unique beauty in burlap.
I made these burlap pumpkins last year and thought they’d look marvelous as part of the centerpiece which includes the Southern Living at Home candlesticks bearing faux pumpkins.
Blessings are definitely a planty! When I count my blessings, I first acknowledge the grace of God. It is his love, grace and mercy that provides all we are thankful for. I am thankful for my Dearest. It is and has been such a blessing to see his love for his God and family. I am thankful for my children – for their love and thoughtfulness.
I am thankful for a good relationship with extended family, for good friends, for health and a warm home. The list can grow and grow…
It is good to rise in the morning and give thanks for the new day.
It is good at the close of the day to recall the blessings of that day – and to be thankful.
We never know what tomorrow may bring…
I remember reading a long time ago, that if you need encouragement – one of the best ways to be encouraged is to encourage someone else. I believe it to be true.
