Recently I shared how I transformed these bottles to resemble the beautiful aqua shade of sea glass. They work wonderfully as flower vases…But, when they’re stored away – why put them away and why not simply redecorate the kitchen for summer in soothing shades of aqua…
Simple Redecorating in the Kitchen with Shades of Aqua
I love going through the rooms in my house and making subtle changes to reflect the seasons. To me, summer is bright, clean and fresh…What better way to reflect that than with shades of aqua!
My favorite place to decorate in our kitchen is on this farmhouse styled hutch. We purchased this hutch years ago from a family-owned farmer’s market. Not only did they seel wonderful produce, but they also created lovely farmhouse style furniture. I purchased this hutch in raw wood…It has seen many transformations, this is my favorite!
I began by clearing away the decor I had on the hutch for spring…I loved that look. Changing the decor seasonally helps one to be able to showcase collections…If you’re like me and love to collect and have so much variety!
Clean Slate – I refreshed the paint on the hutch…I do love the chippy look, but this time, I think clean, bright white is perfect as a backdrop for the decor.
I love collecting white pitchers – not only are they beautiful but also functional. Displaying your collectibles can be lovely and practical at the same time! These clear glass jars came from Target…To me – the pitchers, jars and creamers all demonstrate the charm of Farmhouse style.
Large platters, breadboards, linens and baskets all can be functional and beautiful. Displaying them just adds to the cheerful charm to my summer kitchen decor.
French Bottle Rack
My other favorite place to display my collections is on my French Bottle Drying Rack. I usually keep several of my white or cream teacups here…adding my aqua teacups – Martha Stewart Stoneware. My children think it’s funny that my dish soap is actually a shade of aqua too. For Mother’s Day I received this handmade apron – in aqua…I love aprons, do you?
Farmhouse charm. Fresh Farmhouse charm with touches of aqua here and there…I even am delighted to be able to display and use one of my favorite floral aqua tea sets…a sweet treat!
As I was exploring the fresh possibilities of adding aqua to my kitchen, I found some more very beautiful ideas I’d love to share with you…
