Add a Pouring Bowl, Ironstone Pitcher and Fragrant French Soap…
I just can’t help it! I love vintage decor and especially Ironstone pitchers! When I found this one with a French twist my heart skipped a beat. Then, I found this incredibly beautiful vintage inspired pouring bowl…I knew together they’d make a wonderful French and vintage inspired bathroom vignette.
Vintage Inspired
I don’t mind items that are reproductions, especially if they’re made very well! Yes, these items are not true vintage items, but they do impart the ambiance of a time gone by.
Our Bathroom’s Secret
This bathroom has a little secret. When we moved here we noticed this door frame. There was drywall put into the middle. There once was a doorway that led to the sleeping porch. At one time someone closed it up.
Revealing Patina
I thought this would be a wonderful place for shelves, so we took down the drywall only to find the original door within! What a beautiful find! I love the patina! Fortunately I had this small shelf that when placed on the back of the tub platform it provided the shelving I wanted and let the door peak through.
Styling The Shelves
Over the years, I have rotated baskets, apothecary jars, candles etc… as decor for the shelves. I would combine beauty and function.
Giving a French Twist
I have a love for things that are French. When I discovered these beautifully fragrant French soaps, I knew I’d have to have several. The fragrances are amazing, Lavender, orange flower and cotton flower. Together with the French Ironstone pitcher and pouring bowl – a beautiful combination for a vignette!
Vintage Inspired Pouring Bowl
Have you ever heard of Treenware? Until this bowl, I had not! Treenware is an old name for wooden household items. Pouring bowls had many uses and do so today! Amazingly, this pouring bowl is a replica, not made from wood, but from resin!
White Ironstone Pitchers
I’m not picky! I don’t mind reproductions. If I happen to find a true Ironstone pitcher, I’m quite delighted! I love them in all lines, shapes and sizes. I don’t think a girl could have too many white pitchers!
A Trio becomes a Vignette
As if they were made for each other, the pouring bowl, the Ironstone pitcher and the soaps come together beautifully on one of the higher shelves for this bathroom vignette. To give the shelf a little balance, I added these old bottles with French script – these are from France!
Adding More Pretty to the Shelves
I love dried roses. This apothecary jar filled with dried rosebuds and dried roses alongside are complimented by a rose covered vase and egg-shaped trinket jar.
A Beautiful View
Now, when one steps into our bathroom, the vignettes on the little shelf draw their attention bringing beauty to this corner of the bathroom. This lovely vignette adds interest to the shelving with the lovely vintage and French inspired decor, the patinaed door adds delightful charm.
