An Easy Christmas Gift or Exchange Gift
Each year at our Christmas party we do a ‘Left ~ Right’ game. My husband reads a Christmas story and every time he reads the word ‘left’ or the word ‘right’ our party guests pass the gifts I’ve prepared. At the end of the game whoever is holding the gift wins their prize.
Each year the gift is homemade.
Last year I made Cookie Mix or Cocoa Mix in a Mason Jar.
This year I’m making a ‘pampering bag’ and a ‘good morning bag’
In the pampering bag I have one of my homemade soaps, body butter (I’ll share with you the recipe soon) and bath salts.
I asked my Darling Daughter to choose two fragrances from my essential oil collection.
She chose Lavender and Ocean Rain (from Brambleberry Soap Making Supplies)
The house was filled with marvelous fragrance!
This is a very, very easy and inexpensive gift idea.
Bath Salts Recipe
1 cup Baking Soda
2 cups Coarse Sea Salts
3 cups Epsom Salts
1 oz Essential Oil of your choice
4-6 drops of food coloring (optional)
In a large bowl combine well the baking soda, coarse sea salts and epsom salts. Add the essential oil and food coloring mixing well until completely incorporated. Line a cookie sheet with wax paper and spread the bath salts allow to dry – 2 to 3 hours at least so that the bath salts won’t clump. Place the bath salts in a bag or jar. Plastic jars are safest in the bathrooms, but may react with the essential oils. Glass jars work best, you’ll need to use your best judgement. Decorate your container as you wish.
I plan on making more of these…for gifts.
I suppose if any of my party guests, family or friends may read this, they have a peak into what they might get this year!
As for the ‘Good Morning Bag’…
I have sample sized coffee – cinnamon and hazelnut flavors and Homemade Apple Pie Granola. I’ll share more again soon!
