Vacation Amelia Island

Dearest and I had the opportunity to spend nearly a week on a serene vacation on beautiful Amelia Island. I drank in every moment. Even on the stormy days. The sights and the sounds of the beach just pull away all tensions and stresses. If I could, I’d bottle up the sights, sounds and smells to bring to memory these wonderful days. 

The Ritz Carlton on Amelia Island

We stayed at the wonderful spa-resort, The Ritz-Carlton on Amelia Island. This is a gorgeous hotel with excellent customer service. Every one greeted us as we passed and were very attentive to all our needs and requests. 

 

Of course, I’d get up early to see the sunrise over the ocean. The first morning, I observed the sunrise from our balcony.

The second morning it was raining – but the blending of sea and sky was just as beautiful.

The Third morning I went out just before sunrise and captured the soft colored sky and the lovely reflection of sun and sky on the sand. 

Then I’d walk the grounds of the resort. I adored the beautiful landscape and was delighted to find turtles. Even though they were feasting on the pretty flowers.

I did see a baby turtle on the beach, but didn’t have my camera set right! It all happened too fast!

Dearest and I visited the historic downtown area of Amelia Island and enjoyed wonderful dining and shopping. When I saw this gorgeous Ironstone pitcher, I knew it had to be mine. 

This was one of the lovely places to enjoy the view of the amazing ocean. The Ritz-Carlton on Amelia Island is amazing. 

If you like to golf, there are amazing courses…within walking distance!

The Ritz-Carlton is a beautiful resort. They provide daily several activities for guest’s enjoyment. They’re quite family friendly too with several activities and a special pool for the children.

This is Amelia. Appropriately named!

I am so delighted we had our vacation here. I do so look forward to returning, hopefully next year!
