“It is spring again. The earth is like a child that knows poems by heart.” Ranier Marie Rilke
I love spring anywhere, but if I could choose I would always greet it in a garden. ~Ruth Stout
And Spring arose on the garden fair,
Like the Spirit of Love felt everywhere;
And each flower and herb on Earth’s dark breast
rose from the dreams of its wintry rest.
~Percy Bysshe Shelley, “The Sensitive Plant”
That God once loved a garden we learn in Holy writ.
And seeing gardens in the Spring I well can credit it.
~Winifred Mary Letts

Helleboros are proving to be one of the best plants for my garden – I’m going to move some to the west side of the house – I’ve been told they can withstand the early morning shade and hot late day sun.

the color of new leaves enchants me – the rose bushes are leafing out beautifully as well as the blooming shrubs-early leaf colors show tinges of red

while strolling through the garden, I was followed by two of our cats – they were enjoying each other’s company and awaiting my attention

some of the azaleas are already blooming – from deep within the shrub – the snap dragons are another stalwart plant in my garden
The first day of spring in our Central Georgia garden began quite cloudy and chilly. On Monday we had severe thunderstorms march through – many had trees downed causing power outages – we fared quite well, although the tin on the carport was loosened and curled toward the house – we did get heavy rain and wind – but not the hail that many did get – so heavy it looked like snow.

on spring’s first chilly day, the sun began to break through the clouds giving hope to the potential of a beautiful day

spring is here showing it’s marvelous colors – there’s a certain confidence in the rhythm of things –
Winter season is passing – it will linger here and there barely giving way to the cheerfulness of spring, but spring will win over. and as the words to the song, ‘Only the Beginning‘ by Downhere, there’s a surge of hope in our hearts nowing the promised time of spring is here.
‘It’s only beginning it’s true -Just when I thought my time was through -Oh the stirring I feel inside -Is the voice I know I cannot deny -The surge of hope and full acceptance -Freedom deep as the blue -This is only the beginning -Press ahead forget what’s behind, forget what’s behind – And the good work, He is still perfecting ‘
