Fall Home Tour
‘Come ye thankful people, come, raise the song of Harvest home Henry Alford
I am so thrilled to be participating in this home tour blog hop hosted by my friend, Michele from Shelstring Blog.
I’m joining these marvelous bloggers in sharing our homes decorated for fall – I hope you enjoy the visit…linger, you’re always welcome to our homes.
This awesome blog hop hosted by my friend, Michele from Shelstring Blog. Along for the tour you’ll meet Michelle at Dandelion Patina, Blue-Eyed Dove, and The Painted Chandelier.
My Tour begins in our dining room…newly transformed from red to blue decor.
Our dining room’s new color scheme contrasts marvelously with the beautiful orange color of the pumpkins…
faux leaf garlands and white pumpkins….it doesn’t take too much to add autumn’s glory to a room in your home.
In the Kitchen
‘Home is not merely four square walls, though with pictures hung and gilded; home is where affection calls filled with shrines the hearth had builded’ Charles Swain
The kitchen is decorated in softer shades for fall….love the book page crafts.
and pumpkins made from fabric.
In the Family Room
“with ‘all safely gathered in, ere the winter storms begin,” in the words of the beloved old hymn, we rejoice in grateful thanksgiving. For this is the time of year when family a and friends are gathered about us, and true gifts are deeply appreciated.’ Victoria Magazine November 1991
The neutral colors continue in the family room…with the addition of vibrant autumn blooms from the garden.
‘November’s sky is chill and drear,
November’s leaf is red and sear:’
Sir Walter Scott
Mexican sage adds such wonderful color in the garden and in our home.
November in many places is known for the blast
of cold wind.
“Dull November brings the blast,
Then the leaves are whirling fast.”
– Sara Coleridge
You can find beautiful berries and leaves to make striking autumnal arrangements…
In the bathroom
“In the garden, Autumn is, indeed the crowning glory of the year, bringing us the fruition of months of thought
and care and toil. And at no season, safe perhaps in Daffodil time, do we get such superb colour effects as
from August to November.“
I’ve included some of the last roses of summer…for a romantic vignette.
Autumn is a marvelous time to add the beauty of nature into your home bringing in romance and charm.
Here and there, the autumn decor adds the joyous reflection of the vibrancy of the season…even reflecting the soft, cooler tones of an autumn morning. It doesn’t take too much to bring in the glories of the season.
